Description of function

Project Engineer providing engineering and project management support services for various offshore wind and cable installation projects.

 

Job responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice  to the Project Manager during all project phases

  • Lead engineering of the close out stages of complex projects

  • Support Engineering Analysts with cable installation analysis

  • Technical support of complex projects during tender stage

  • Daily liaison with client Project Managers, Engineers and Client Reps

  • Prepare cable installation procedures

  • Review and improve cable installation procedures and risk assessments

  • Track and control budgets

  • Review Client documentation

  • Prepare cost and progress reports for Project Manager

  • Manage subcontractor companies in Cable Laying and Trenching operations

  • Assisting Technical Department in developing new trenching assets

  • Deliver project in line with company targets

  • Attend project review meetings and update on project status

CAPABILITY PROFILE; KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Successful track record of managing subsea cable installation projects on offshore wind farms

  • Knowledge of subsea structures, umbilical’s and cables

  • Master or Bachelor degree; preferably Mechanical or Civil (Other engineering degrees will be considered) and/ or Relevant work experience

  • Willingness to support and develop people at all levels

  • Creative/Innovator

  • Enthusiasm/ Self Starter

  • Flexibility

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels

  • Strong leadership skills
