Description of function

To develop, maintain and grow the Company business and market share in Guyana. Work closely with the Global VP BD to plan, develop and execute a strategy for profitably growth of the business in-country and managing relationships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, suppliers and local partners.

Job responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities –

  • Identify and pursue business growth opportunities, including expanding the customer base, Forging partnerships and exploring new business channels.
  • Conducting market analysis to understand the local market dynamics, competition, customer preferences and trends.
  • Develop the country strategy, aligning with overall Company goals.
  • Building and managing a high-performing local team including recruitment, training and performance evaluation.
  • Foster strong partnerships that support business objectives.
  • Working closely with government & public offices in Guyana to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and corporate policies to mitigate risks and maintain Company’s reputation within the region.
  • Financial planning, budgeting and cost control, ensuring profitability and financial stability.
  • Providing regular reports on overall business performance to the CCO via VPBD.
  • Any other duty as required by the line manager commensurate with the post.

Supervisory Responsibilities –

  • This position will be responsible for all employees working for the company in Guyana.

Education & Experience -

  •  4+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a similar role within the Medical Industry or SME
  • Ideally degree qualified
  • Experience in establishing business goals and strategies.
  • Good understanding of corporate law, branding and product positioning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict timescales
  • Ideally have a current driving license or have independent travel capability

Computer Skills -

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and general computer & technology literacy

Language Skills -

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to
customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability -

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
